The XVI^th National Conference of ARDSI was unique in many ways. First it was organized by one of the youngest chapters. Secondly there was a successful National Governance Workshop prior to the conference.

The conference was a rich blend of clinical and carers topics, very efficiently handled by national and international experts.
Credit goes to the members of the Pune chapter of ARDSI, Chaithanya Mental Health Care Centre and International Longevity Centre, Pune for their planning and team work.

Special mention deserves the warm hospitality provided as well as the rich scientific presentations -- thanks to the leadership of Dr. S. D. Gokhale and Mr. Rony George.
This conference has raised the bench mark for our future national conferences.

I am confident that the Pune declaration -- an outcome of this conference will be considered favourably by the various governmental, professional and social welfare agencies.
